"Look! He's Making a Mat Right Now!"
For almost 15 years, entertaining and educating folks at special events, festivals, even flea markets, was an extra special part of my life! Working in my booth full-time, here's what they saw as I created lifetime tire mats "from scratch"!
With the moveable yellow "sizing bars" set to determine the mat's width, the appropriate U-shaped wire frames are selected and arranged, open ends towards me, overhanging the table just enough for placement of the links. I received regular road shipments of 1000 lbs., links, wires, other parts to produce these; yearly totals of over 15,000 lbs.! Now, THAT'S recycling!

These average-sized entry mats took only 15 minutes or so to create, so folks loved to watch the whole process! |
| Not homemade! This certainly shows here. Armed
with a factory made tool, I'm bending the two "open wire" ends toward each other (90 degrees to the length) - essentially
closing the open end with a loop, which is then completely closed (now new) and sealed with a safety plastic sleeve! |

SAFETY FINISHING! This clever device fits over the closed ends, with some struggling and the special tool; it is a plastic sleeve, is weather proof, and shouldn't come off any time soon. Replacement sleeves are always available if you'd need them. |
| You know, I could probably pick up the old tools and weave one today, with my eyes closed! Part of this product's charm and endearment is its hand-assembly; look around these days.... not many items left out there like this one! |
